Basic Policies on Activities Concerning the
Environment and Chemistry:
1. The Chemical Society of Japan will actively
address environmental and safety issues associated with chemical substances as
fundamental issues underlying all of its activities.
2. Every member of
the Society will ensure that his/her academic activities in his/her area of
expertise will be fully utilized for the best practicable resolution of
environmental and safety issues for chemical substances.
3. For these purposes, a new structure will be established in the Society that will be
charged with such tasks as: · Fostering research on environmental and safety
problems |

· Increasing cooperation with academic societies in related
disciplines · Developing human resources · Making recommendations to
industries, governments, and the public · Strengthening international
cooperation.
