The Chemistry Olympiad 2012 award ceremony, 44th ICO USA report, and the 45th ICO Russia delegate recognition ceremony all took place on September 29th at the CSJ Chemistry Hall in Kanda Surugadai, Tokyo.
Hokkaido University Professor emeritus and 2010 Nobel laureate Akira Suzuki attended as a special guest, and there was a pleasant question and answer session and get together with attending high school students. The Dream Chemistry 21 Committee and CSJ selected 23 candidate representatives for the International Chemistry Olympiad to be held in Russia in July 2013. The candidates will take part in practice sessions and selection exams, and finally, 4 representatives will be selected to attend the 45th Chemistry Olympiad in Russia.
